On 14th November 2011, members of the Salford Symphony Orchestra joined forces with members of the Lancashire Chamber Orchestra in a rehearsal session with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, at Media City, Salford. Under the Conductor Richard Davis, they rehearsed Beethoven's 6th, the Pastoral Symphony.

This was a rare opportunity for amateur musicians to play in a professional orchestra and experience a real professional orchestral rehearsal.
